BFCC-QIO Transition Update from KEPRO
Appeals Process, FAQs and New Fax Number
Effective June 8, 2019, the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) Quality Improvement Organizations (QIO), KEPRO and Livanta transitioned to a new scope of work. KEPRO has quickly realized that change can present unexpected challenges. On July 3rd KEPRO posted a transition update letting providers know that their call center has “experienced overwhelming call volume as well as thousands of voicemails….we are working diligently to find solutions to allow determinations to be delivered in a timely manner and to eliminate long wait times for responses (e.g., questions about case status).”
What Has Not Changed
The appeals process for KEPRO and Livanta is the same as before the transition. KEPRO has posted an appeals process flow chart on their website.
If You Have Questions
If KEPRO is your BFCC-QIO and you have questions about the transition you can visit their transition webpage.
What Has Changed, Effective Immediately
“Due to technical challenges with government-furnished computer systems and for provider ease, KEPRO will temporarily use a different fax number. Effective immediately and until further notice, all medical records should be faxed to 844-878-7921.”
